font-family: inherit; font-size: 30px;\">Synopsis<\/span><\/p><p>The emergence of SDN (Software Defined Network) has had a disruptive influence on the world of data networking, leading to a fundamental re-think of how networks are designed. This technical workshop will provide an in-depth understanding of the key technological elements of SDN via a combination of lectures and hands-on exercises.<\/p><\/section><section><h2>Target audience<\/h2><p>Technical staff currently operating an IP and\/or MPLS network who are interested in understanding the impact of SDN with a view of implementing elements of SDN in the near future.<\/p><\/section><section><h2>Prerequisites<\/h2><p>It is assumed that participants will have intermediate-level knowledge of IP routing, routing protocols, management protocols, MPLS protocols, and traffic-engineering.<\/p><\/section><section><h2>Course outline<\/h2><ul><li>Introduction to SDN<\/li><li>Architectural frameworks for SDN<\/li><li>OpenFlow<\/li><li>OpenDaylight<\/li><li>Mininet<\/li><li>Segment routing<\/li><li>BGP Egress Peer Engineering<\/li><li>Segment routing interworking with LDP<\/li><\/ul><\/section><section><h2>Other requirements<\/h2><p>Participants are advised to bring their own laptop computers with\u00a0high-speed Wi-Fi (802.11a\/g\/n\/ac)\u00a0and administrative access to system. He has been involved in capacity development in the APNIC community by providing technical assistance and training in number of technical areas such as Routing &amp; Switching, Network Architecture, IXP design and deployment, Network Security, IPv6 deployment, DNSSEC, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>Tashi completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical and Electronics engineering from India, complemented by research studies in next generation networks from Japan and postgraduate studies in Network Systems from Australia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Areas of Interest:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BGP, IS-IS\/OSPF, IPv6, Securing Internet Routing (RPSL, RPKI, BGPsec), Network Security, DNS\/DNSSEC, DWDM, SDH\/SONET, SDN, Blockchain.<\/p>\n<br><br>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pull-left m-r m-b avatar-xl\" src=\"https:\/\/training.apnic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/11\/jwei-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Bei (Jessica) Wei &#8211; Network Analyst\">\n\n<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>\n<h4 class=\"media-heading\">Bei(Jessica) Wei &#8211; Network Analyst<\/h4>\n\n<p>After graduating from China\u2019s Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2007 with a degree in electronics engineering, Bei (whose nickname is Jessica) joined Huawei as a network training officer.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next six years, she provided Huawei technical training on LAN\/WAN systems, broadband access, IP core and IP mobile backhaul networks as well as working on technical training course design and the development of  IP training materials.
